Skin Analysis

The VISIA skin analyser uses a combination of imaging technologies to map your skin, assess skin health, and highlight skin conditions.  The detailed scientific and analytical assessment can accurately provide technical detail on sunspots, wrinkles, texture, and pores.  It’s a tool that greatly speeds up diagnosis and, through its reports, helps therapists create personalised and effective skincare plans and determine the effectiveness of treatments.

VISIA uses visible light, UV light, and polarised RBX® imaging to map changes or irregularities in the skin’s tissue.  Polarised RBX® imaging splits the light into its separate frequencies. This allows for quick identification of underlying vascular conditions (e.g. spider veins), inflammation, and pigmentation concerns.  UV photography highlights and allows you to view sun damage.  The UV fluorescence imaging reveals porphyrins, which can be indicators of sun damage.  The combination of IntelliFlash®, visible, polarised RBX®, and UV lighting allows accurate measurement and recording of surface and subsurface skin conditions and irregularities.

The analysis not only highlights areas of concern, it provides feedback through percentile scores by comparing your skin to others of the same age and skin type in several categories, including:

  • Brown spots

  • Pore size

  • Porphyrins

  • Red areas

  • Surface spots

  • Texture

  • UV spots

  • Wrinkles

Benefits

  • A comprehensive and accurate initial skin analysis has been shown to help clinicians more confidently and efficiently select treatments that are most likely to produce effective and safe outcomes.  It reduces the time from assessment to results and may help reduce associated costs.

  • The analysis process is scientifically based.  It removes the human element from the initial assessment.  The results from treatments are clear and objective, providing assurance and reducing uncertainty.

Results can be saved and compared over time.  Comparisons are generated by the system rather than by the therapist, allowing progress towards skin goals to be monitored and clearly visualised.

  • VISIA compares your skin to a database of over 250,000 individuals.  This enables feedback in the form of percentile scores, showing how your skin compares to others of the same age, gender, and skin type.

  • Viewing before and after images under different lighting modes helps you to better understand your current skin condition and track progress over time.  This enhances communication and patient understanding.

  • VISIA captures images from multiple angles, left, front-on and right and overlays these for a comprehensive view.  This multi-angle imaging supports a more accurate and detailed review of your skin condition and helps identify priority treatment areas, guiding a tailored treatment plan.

  • The VISIA analysis process is quick and non-invasive.  It involves no discomfort and minimal inconvenience. This allows more time for discussing your treatment options and planning your personalised treatment pathway.
